Lenses in My Eye

Dear Beautiful,
I have been wearing contacts regularly for the past 4 years. Now they do have there good sides and bad sides, as does everything. So this is just a little post for those of you thinking about contacts but aren't sure.
Pros
1) I danced for a while, so for anyone that is active it makes playing a sport a lot easier. You don't have to worry about your glasses falling off or sliding down your face.
2) Things are actually clearer, and I can see everything better. I, however, never clean my glasses. I have friends that clean them like everyday. So that might just be me.
3) I can see almost everything better. I can see father. I will wear my glasses to school some days and from the same seat, I struggle to see the board. I have even asked the eye doctor if they were the same prescription.
4) I actually enjoy doing my make up more. If I wear my glasses, I most likely haven't done my make up. I feel like without my glasses on you can see it better. Putting it on is easier too.

Cons
1) They sometimes get dry towards the end of the day, making them uncomfortable. But a few eye drops will fix that right up.
2) I have very sensitive eye and all contact lens solutions bother my eyes. So when I put them in it stings for like 5 seconds. That's just me and a few very random people. If your afraid of it happening to you don't worry. It just makes your eyes tear and then goes away for the rest of the day.
3) It makes your eyes a bit more sensitive to the sun. When I have my contacts in I wear my sunglasses 10x more than with glasses.

That's all the Pro's and Con's I have for contacts. To me the Pro's absolutely out weight the Con's. I just love wearing contacts all the time. So if your still unsure, just try them out. It would kill you to get a pack of contacts and just give it a go.
TIP: If you are going to continue to wear contacts all the time, order them off http://www.1800contacts.com/. It will honestly save you money and the shipping and costumer service is great.

Prom: Dates!!!

Dear Beautiful,
I am not saying that you must have a date to go to prom, my two best friends are going stag. I just happen to have a boyfriend right now, otherwise I would also be going stag. So if you do have a date here are a few things to think about. Well only two.
     1) Go with him to get to get his tuxedo. Look at all the vest and colors. If you have extra straps or fabric from your dress bring it with you. It will help ensure that the colors match well. Even if his mother is going to go with him, you should go to. It helps you know for sure that he got something that will match you dress nicely.
     2) If your going to get a corsage with an odd flower go together. I plan on having Forget-Me-Knots in mine, which needs to be special ordered. But if your getting white roses or lily's you should be fine. I think that going together is just always good because then you know the flowers will match nicely.
That's about it. If you know your date gets a haircut every few weeks remind him when prom is, so that he schedules it at a good time. Also remind him to schedule time to do his hair, if he does. That's about it. Just check that he has everything he needs such as a corsage, tux, limo paid for if your doing that and a haircut. And don't forget to take lots of pictures with him. Have fun!!!

Prom: Shoes and Accessories

Dear Beautiful,
Brash Jupiter Platform Sandal
As promised my shoes and accessories. The shoes I chose were the lightest shade of beige I could find and the closest one to my dress. My dress has detachable straps, which I held up against the shoes to see how well they matched. If you don't have detachable straps it may be hard to match the color, since you can't hem the dress without shoes so you wont have any extra fabric. But the shoes don't totally match but are so close and after 2 weeks of looking I had given in. I got these at Payless for $30. The heel is 5.5 inches and has a 1.5 inch platform. The actual heel is very thick so they are very comfortable. Also the strap around the ankle makes me feel better, like I know I wont loose them and my ankle wont twist. The dress is very simple so I went with a very simple shoe.
The simplicity of the dress is also why I went with very little accessories. I will only be wearing a gemstone bracelet my boyfriend/ date bought for me for my birthday. I will have a corsage so I thought too much jewelry would on top of that wouldn't look right. For a necklace I am going to wear my Rose name necklace. I really like gold for the summer and I seem to only have one gold necklace. However it is really simple and goes with the overall look I am going for. I wont have a bag because I'm just too lazy to carry one and I have had such a problem match colors too this dress. I'm going to just throw my phone and a bit of money in my boyfriends pocket.

Proms here!!!

Dear Beautiful,
Prom isn't exactly here, but it's super close. My prom is on June 2nd and I can't wait. I have been planning my prom since I was 8. Every year I would see all the girls get all their hair done, put on pretty dresses and get in their limo's to go to prom. I can't believe mine is already here. In only 6 short weeks my prom will be here and I will be getting ready and getting in my own limo. Over the next few weeks I'm going to be putting up a blog about all the important parts of my prom outfit.
I will post about my shoes and accessories, my dates outfit, make up and nails, hair and lastly my dress. I think you guys will be very surprised by the dress I chose, I even surprised myself. I always thought it would be bright and glamorous and over the top, but it's not. So stay tuned to see what everything will look like.

Hunger Games: Nails

Dear Beautiful,
This isn't a recreation of the way they did Katniss' nails but from the China Glaze collection. As you may have noticed I hauled a few of these polish last month, I tried the other ones I had out and this was my last one. Now the color in the pictures below is Argo, for District 11. I am not a big fan of green colors, however this one is amazing. Its a mossy green with lots of gold undertones. On my ring finger and thumb I put Shine of the Times. The flecks are orange and lime green, which looks really cool over and next to Argo. So check out the pictures below and tell me what you think.

Without flash, so you can see the flecks.

Nail Foundation

Dear Beautiful,
Foundation for your nails? Yes it's a real thing. Basically nail foundation is just a fancy name Butter London has given their base coat. I never saw the point in a base coat but had heard so many good things about this one. So I took the chance and bought a $14 base coat.
You obviously put this on before the nail polish color. It evens out the nail color and makes the nail matte. I have seen no difference when wearing this base coat. My nail polish still lasts about 5 days. Also the price makes it so not worth it, If i saw some amazing difference in the longevity of my nail polish I would keep using it.
Now I use it every once in a while, since I don't see a point. I am not at all impressed. I might try a few more affordable ones from the drugstore. I'll keep you updated.

Haul #5 Vegas

Dear Beautiful,
I can't go  anywhere without buying some make up. It's a bit of a habit.

The nail polishes I bought at a 99¢ store. I have been wanting to get some fun colors for designs, but don't want to spend a lot of money on colors I won't wear otherwise. So I got those there.
At Walmart I got two lip balms and a notebook. Both lip balms I have been wanting to try and couldn't seem to find it anywhere else. Palmers Coco butter swivel stick and Maybelline baby lips in peppermint. The notebook is to keep topics and ideas for blogs. I have been writing in a little spiral notebook but have a love for pretty journals.
Lastly I got this Nails Inc. set at Sephora. It was on sale for $10 and might still be. I couldn't pick between the three sets and ended up going with the Wyndam collection. Along with nail stickers that we're on sale for $5. I have been wanting to try these but always felt they were a bit expensive, so the sale made it a perfect chance to try them.

April Birchbox

Dear Beautiful,
When I got home from Las Vegas yesterday not only did I found a college acceptance letter to my number one school but also a great Birchbox. It was a great day as far as mail was concerned, double awesomeness. I got some really great things this month and can't wait to try them out. This month was a Natural themed box.
Whats Inside:
-J.R. Watkins Hand and Cuticle Salve
-Willa Facial Gentle Cleansing Lavender Facial Towelettes
-Wonderstruck Taylor Swift
- Zoya TRUE Spring collection 'Bevin'
-Dropps Laudry Detergent

I love this months box, all great products. The Laundry detergent throws me off a bit. I still live at home and sadly my mother still does my laundry. So I may give it to her to try out, hey she may even write a blog post on it.

Stripper to Go

 Dear Beautiful,
Now it's not as weird as it sounds, it's only nail polish remover. Debra Lippmanns Stripper to Go nail polish remover, to be exact. They come in little individual Packets to do all 10 finger. I found that skeptical, I also found the fact that they were supposed to be lavender scented skeptical too.

This is amazing. When you open the packet you find a little mitt. You just slide your finger in and twist until the polish comes off. Which doesn't take very long, just about 4 twists. I know it's not 100% acetone because it doesn't make your skin dry at all. There is just enough to get 7 fingers done. However if you don't  dump out the extra nail polish remover in the packet, you'll be fine. When it gets dry, just dip it into the nail polish remover left over and you'll be all good. By doing that you can now finish the rest of your nails.
It takes off the nail polish so easily, actually easier than a cotton ball does. and there so great for travel, taking up practically no space in its thin, little packet. My nail polish never seems to last a whole week. Ever. This makes it so much easier because I can quickly take off the old, chipped nail polish and replace it with new nail polish. I sadly just used my last one and must now go and buy my second bow of them. I hope you guys try them and love them as much as I do.

Give a Gift

Dear beautiful,
Do you not know what to get your boyfriend for your anniversary? Don't have a lot of money to spend? Well I have 2 great ideas for you.
 1) A photo album. I went and printed out 30 of our pictures at CVS. Then I bought one of the little albums they had in the store. Stuck the photos in it and have it to him just like that. Simple, easy, quick but still personal and unique. And only cost $10.
 2) Coupons. Not the kinda that get you a $1 off cat food. These are special and depend on the person. The first thing you do is print out a ticket/ coupon template. Then fill in the box with what you want. After you can either color it in or leave it white. If you don't want to color it but don't want to leave it white, you can print it on colored paper. Some things I put in mine were a free back rub, brownies, movie day and an extra long hug. Some should be cute, others funny or helpful. Just base it on your boyfriend and what he likes.

Shapers Plus

Dear beautiful,
Hair spray is a hard thing to find. Some are to stiff so they don't work well when leaving your hair down. Others don't give enough hold. Well I have found the most amazing hairspray, EVER! Sebastian Shapers Plus gives great hold without being stiff at all.
I recently cut my bangs and they don't like to stay in play. This allows me to set them in place before I leave in the morning, without making them stiff and hard. My hair feels as if there is no hairspray in it. None of that makes the hairspray flake and turn white. It also tames my fly aways with no issue. I can run my fingers through them, pushing them around.
To me this is the best hairspray ever.

Hunger Games: Glimmer

Dear Beautiful,
I read the Hunger Games trilogy recently and fell in love, so only naturally I went to see the movie. When seeing the movies I fell in love with Glimmer ( Tribute from District 1 ). I explain in more in the video. I was able to edit them together, with the amazing YouTube video editor.
